Rejoice! His Coming is Near!

We continue our story with John the Baptist as we “rejoice” that the birth of Jesus is near. Last week we heard him speak about repentance. In today’s Gospel Jesus speaks to three specific groups and a specific virtue that they need to promote. To the soldiers, he speaks of peace; to the tax collectors, justice; to the people, compassion. What specific virtues do we need to address so as to be ready for the coming of the Lord, now and at his Second Coming?
