Luke 12: 49 – 53

Bread was baked in an earthen oven. Dried camel dung, which contained salt, was used as fuel. In addition, loose salt was thrown into the fire as an agent to increase the temperature and intensity of the oven. Jesus wants us be that additional salt that is thrown into the fire of our baptism.  Jesus wants us to burn brighter and hotter. We are to be the fire of his love in the world.
