Yesterday, Frs. Miguel, Joseph Seraphin and Matt (with two parishioners) walked with the Blessed Sacrament in and around Nickerson Gardens. Once again, people came out, knelt down and adored the Lord, many with tearfilled prayers. One young man, hearing the bell ringing, rushed out of his unit, knelt down in the middle of the sidewalk, and with copious tears, confessed his sins, asking for God’s forgiveness for his misdeeds. It was not unlike the example of the woman washing the feet of Jesus with her tears and drying them with her hair. It was extremely moving. This is but one example of the profound love, devotion and loss that this community is experiencing with the closure of our church doors.
