Luke 10: 25 – 37
And who is my neighbor? As we see in today’s Gospel, Jesus says your neighbor is not just your fellow Israelite but even your hated enemy. What boundaries have we placed upon on those who qualify as “my neighbor” in my life? What do we need to do in order to break down those boundaries? This centuries-old question remains with us to this day. As we hear in the Peace Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi, “where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury pardon.” Let’s try and live that a little more this week.
