Why celebrate the into heaven? This event reveals that our earthly existence is temporary. 

Jesus ascends, in his glorified body, into heaven, our final home. The words,

“and a cloud took him from their sight” represents the entry of his humanity into divine

glory. This is something that we, too, will enjoy at the Second Coming of the Lord. In the

meantime, let us “Go into the whole world and proclaim that ‘Jesus is Lord’!”
