4th Sunday in Advent

Luke 1: 39 – 44 


The Prophet Micah speaks about the birth of a leader for Israel who will be a shepherd king. His powerful reign will bring security and peace. What Micah looks forward to in words becomes flesh and blood in the person of Jesus.  Mary’s faith says that promises of the Lord would indeed find fulfilment in her.  Those promises find fulfillment in us through our willingness to say, “Yes!” to the Lord. We proclaim, in word and in action, that “Jesus Christ is Lord.”
