The story of the Disciples on the way to Emmaus speaks of how “their hearts were burning as

he explained the Scriptures” to them. Familiar passages now spoke to them in a new way, one

that revealed that Jesus was the Promised Messiah. What do they do? They must return to

Jerusalem and share their experience. When we discover the Risen Lord in a new way, we have

no choice but to share the excitement of this encounter. The Scriptures will speak to our hearts

if we but open them to His Word. In other words, “All of our roads can lead to an Emmaus

experience.”
