16th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Mark 6:30-34
July 18, 2021
When he disembarked and saw the vast crowd, his heart was moved with pity for them, for they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.—Mark 6:34
Jesus sees a vast crowd; he has pity on them. This word in Greek corresponds to a Hebrew word that means “womb.” In the Biblical world, this is the source of the deepest of emotions. With this powerful word, Jesus shows His compassionate love for all.
