On a Sabbath Jesus went to dine at the home of one of the leading Pharisees, and the people there were observing him carefully. He told a parable to those who had been invited, noticing how they were choosing the places of honor at the table. The parable explained the embarrassment one may experience if asked to move for someone invited to sit in their honored seat.
Then he asked the host about who he invites to a lunch or a dinner. He asked if he invites friends, brothers, relatives or wealthy neighbors, in case they may invite him back, therefore having repayment. The Lord shared that when we hold a banquet, invite the poor, crippled, lame, and blind. He explained we will be blessed because of their inability to repay for the generosity. He taught we will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.
