Today, St. John interrupts his flow of Jesus’ healings and teachings. He sends us a quick memo summarizing the purpose of Jesus ministry – namely, that the Father so loved us that he sent his Son to save the world. God’s vision is one of hope. In the midst of today’s local and global challenges, let us not forget this theological virtue of hope. In the words of St. Paul, “Hope will not leave us disappointed!” The Resurrection will be final proof of that!
