Today we hear the story of Zacchaeus, a man small in stature but big in desire. He wants to see
Jesus, so he climbed a sycamore tree. Not only did he get his wish to see Jesus, but he also gets
more. Jesus decided to come to his house and have dinner. The symbolism is obvious. The
greater our desire to see Jesus, the more he will surprise us with opportunities. He will come
into our hearts and enrich us in ways that we never would have imagined. No matter how
small we may feel we are, we are always larger in God's eyes.
