“Zeal for your house will consume me.”King David’s words emphasize that he had been insulted for his devotion to God. What does it mean to be consumed with this holy zeal? Holy zeal is expressed in actions of faith that draw us closer to the Lord. It is a more focused attentiveness to the Lord in word and deed. Lent gives us an opportunity to refocus our attention on the Lord.
