Ha mencionado su segunda "predicción de la pasión.” Los discípulos no quieren oír hablar de su sufrimiento, muerte, entierro y luego resurrección. Sin embargo, enfatiza que la "grandeza" vendrá solo por medio del liderazgo de servicio, y esto implicará sacrificio y sufrimiento. Esto es difícil de escuchar a veces, y mucho menos vivir. Sin embargo, viene con la mayor de las recompensas - la vida eterna.

25th Sunday in Ordinary Time September 19, 2021 Mark 8:27-35 Jesus is returning to Galilee. He has mentioned his second “passion prediction.” The disciples do not want to hear about his suffering, death, burial, and then resurrection. However, he emphasizes that “greatness” will come only by servant leadership – and this will entail sacrifice and suffering. This is difficult to hear at times, let alone live. Yet, it comes with the greatest of rewards – eternal life.

24 Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario 12 de septiembre de 2021 San Marcos 8:27 – 35 Jesús pregunta a sus discípulos: "¿Pero ¿quién decís que soy?" La pregunta es personal. Pedro luchará con esta nueva comprensión de Jesús como un Mesías Siervo que sufre. Es un viaje de fe, como el nuestro. Crece y se desarrolla con el tiempo, al igual que el nuestro. ¿La clave de este viaje hacia adentro? Sigue hablando con el Señor. Habla con él sobre tus luchas y frustraciones. Tenga la seguridad de que el Señor hará el resto.

24rd Sunday in Ordinary Time September 12, 2021 Mark 8:27-35 Jesus asks his disciples, “But who do you say that I am?” The question is a personal one. Peter will struggle with this new understanding of Jesus as a Suffering – Servant Messiah. It is a journey of faith – as is ours. It grows and develops over time – as does ours. The key to this journey inward? Keep talking to the Lord. Talk to him about your struggles and frustrations. Be assured, the Lord will do the rest.

Su impedimento del habla se curó. ¿Qué necesitamos tener "abierto" en nuestras vidas para escuchar la Palabra de Dios y hablarla "más claramente"? ¿Somos “sordos espiritualmente” a veces? ¿Cómo podemos "abrir nuestro corazón" más a la voz de Dios en nuestras vidas? Una vez que esto suceda, nosotros también proclamaremos con Valencia la bondad y el poder de Jesucristo.

23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time September 5, 2021 Mark 7:31-37 “Ephphatha!” is a word in Aramaic that means “Be opened.” The deaf man’s ears were opened. His speech impediment was cured. What do we need to have “opened” in our lives to hear the Word of God and speak it “more clearly?” Are we “spiritually deaf” at times? How can we “open our hearts” more to God’s voice in our lives? Once this happens, we, too, will boldly proclaim the goodness and power of Jesus Christ.
