5º domingo de Pascua 15 de mayo de 2022 Juan 13: 31–35 En su discurso de despedida en la Última Cena, Jesús da a sus apóstoles un mandamiento nuevo. Entonces, ¿qué hay de nuevo en esto? Jesús les instruye a “amarse unos a otros como yo los he amado”. El antiguo mandamiento era “ama a tu prójimo (unos a otros) como a ti mismo”. Jesús aumenta su espera a través de un acontecimiento que está por venir, a saber, su muerte en la cruz. Él dará su vida por nosotros. Jesús quiere que vayamos más allá, y Él hará esto primero. Amémonos unos a otros con sacrificio, lo que implica “morir a nosotros mismos”.

5th Sunday of Easter May 15, 2022 John 13: 31– 35 In his farewell discourse at the Last Supper, Jesus gives his apostles a new commandment. So, what is new about this? Jesus instructs them to “love one another as I have loved you.” The old commandment was “love your neighbor (one another) as yourself.” Jesus increases his expectation through an event that is yet to come, namely, his death on the cross. He will lay down his life for us. Jesus wants us to go above and beyond – and he will do this first. Let us love one another in a sacrificial way, which implies “dying to ourselves.”

4o domingo de Pascua 8 de mayo de 2022 Juan 10: 27 – 30 ¿Por qué las ovejas tienen un luger especial en el corazón de los escritores bíblicos? Bueno, las ovejas están asociadas con el honor. 4th Sunday of Easter May 8, 2022 John 10: 27 – 30 Why do sheep have a special place in the hearts of the Biblical writers? Well, sheep are associated with honor. They don’t cry out in times of danger, sheering or when being slaughtered. Male sheep guard their females from other males. They are loyal and follow only the voice of the master. And, Jesus was the Lamb of God – he was silent when led to the slaughter. How do we embody these characteristics as followers of Jesus – the sheep of fold? Good Shepherd Sunday challenges us to faithful members of his flock.

Llama a Tomás, que ha dudado de su anterior visita a los discípulos. Él proclama: “Señor mío y Dios mío”. Esta es una historia sobre la fe, a veces débil, otras veces, vibrante y fuerte. Nosotros también somos como Tomás. Nuestra fe puede ser fuerte a veces y más débil en otros momentos. April 24, 2022 John 20: 19 – 31 In today’s Gospel Jesus appear to his disciples behind locked doors. This time, Thomas is present. He calls Thomas, who has doubted his previous visit to the disciples. He proclaims, “My Lord and my God.” This is a story about faith – sometimes weak, other times, vibrant and strong. We, too, are like Thomas. Our Faith may be strong at times, and weaker at other times. At those times, let us pray the words of the father who asked to have his son healed, “Lord, I believe, help my unbelief.” (Mark 9:24)
